Who you are

If you are fostering, adopting or have adopted and are now parenting as a single person - please introduce yourself in the comments section and get involved.  The level of involvement is 100% up to you.

Anywhere from:
  • A contributing blogger - A bonafide blog author (through blogger) who can post things specific to the single foster/adopt journey as well as personal stories along the way.   A phoyo and bio will also be added in the "Who we are" section, so everyone can get to know the contributing bloggers.
  • A connected blogger - Blog linked in the "Other Solo Flyers" section to the right
  • A connected friend - A blog isn't necessary to be part of our crew.  Non-bloggers can share their story and how they came to foster care or adoption solo, either in the comment section below or by sending an email to attemptingagape@gmail.com.  Introductions will be made as we get them on them as general blog posts, so be as general or specific as you'd like.
  • An observer - you are more than welcome to just sit back and watch others share and get to know each other, but we'd love for you to jump in, we're friends here.  And if you are not a single adoptive or foster care Mom or Dad, but want to see what we're up to, feel welcome!

K, now tell us about you in the comment section - now. Go.

  2. I am a 32 year old single who has been fostering 2 little boys (4 and 2) for the past 20 and 18 months. July 12th, I will be their forever mom! Very excited. I don't have a blog yet (relating to foster/adoptive care), but plan to create one soon. Would love to be a part of this group!

  4. I'm a young single soon-to-be foster parent who is nervously waiting for my first placement. Working to build an online community of other foster parents since I have zero local foster connections. I'm blogging at www.thetempmom.blogspot.com

  6. I am a mid-forties, full-time high school English teacher, full-time single mom to a nine year old daughter...and newly certified foster mama. Well, it will be almost a year on December 31. I had two rough placements (one interupted, one returned to previous foster mom) and now am back to waiting for the call...again. I blog at myearthmamalife.blogspot.com.

  7. I am currently a single, 37 year old, Foster Mom to an amazing 6 month old little girl that I've had since she was 6 days old. I received the call asking me to take her, and "oh, by the way, we've approved your license!" It is starting to look more and more likely that in the next few months TPR will occur and I will certainly adopt. Right now my focus is on her because she has some special needs, but down the road, I am hoping to take emergency placements and respite.
